Founded in 1997, Laughing Sun Renovations began as a desire to restore old houses back to their original character. Desire met opportunity when we learned of a 1900 folk Victorian in the Kirkwood neighborhood of Atlanta which needed desperate attention. It boasted one very unsanitary bath and a minuscule rotten kitchen, was termite infested, and leaked like a sieve. Obviously, we had to have it.

To date, we've bought, restored, and sold a number of houses, all in the in town Atlanta area. Along the way, we've encountered challenges and problems ranging from the mundane to the ridiculous. All have been contributed to our continued growth - we've developed valuable skills such as Computer Aided Design, architectural antique and vendor resources; we've forged alliances with skilled craftspeople and artists. At some point in the chaos, we found our groove.

When we were approached by other folks wanting us to work on their homes, it felt like a natural progression. We had honed our design skills and developed an eye for optimal value enhancement. Through previous home investment and risk, we've learned how to get the biggest bang for the buck - where cheaper alternatives can provide the same aesthetic appeal, where the same products or services can be acquired more efficiently, and where a splurge is worthwhile. Whether we're working on our home or yours, these beliefs, as well as our desire to maintain existing character where possible and add it where lacking, are the foundation for our work.
